Skippy peanut butter recalled

Skippy Foods, LLC has removed more than 9,000 jars of peanut butter “because a limited number of jars may contain a small fragment of stainless steel from a piece of manufacturing equipment,” the company announced and made a statement Thursday.

The particular Skippy brands include Skippy Reduced Fat Peanut Butter Spread, Skippy Reduced Fat Chunky Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter Blended with Plant Protein, each with ” best if used by dates” that are the beginning of May 2023. These dates are on the upper part of the top of the lid.

The company claims there were no consumer complaints regarding this recall and that it is voluntary.

The company notified the retailers that had received the particular product.
